Antique Row

Well known for the many antique and collectible stores lining several blocks of Fort Street from Blanshard to Cook Streets.

Bastion Square

Site of the original the Hudson's Bay Company's Fort Victoria from 1843, Bastion Square takes its name from the Bastion that once stood at the north east corner of Fort Victoria. Today, cobblestone pathways, wrought iron lampstands and restored heritage buildings provide an historic background for artisans, pubs and fine restaurants.

Chinatown

The discovery of gold in BC brought the first Chinese immigrants to Victoria in 1858, making this Chinese community Canada's oldest. The Chinese community expanded quickly, with the confined region the Chinese lived in being operated as a separate town. Chinatown's "Forbidden City" was a network of hidden alleyways and courtyards.

Lower Johnson Street

Also known as Olde Towne or, more recently, as LoJo. Colourful heritage buildings distinguish this downtown Victoria neighbourhood. Trendy and new blends with traditional and old as alternative clothing stores line this two-block area of lower Johnson Street. Market Square anchors Olde Town with over 40 stores and restaurants to choose from.

Moss Street Market

An eclectic outdoor market held from May through October. Local produce, yummy treats, work from local artisans. A very organic atmosphere. Sir James Douglas Schoolgrounds.

Munro's Books

Located in a beautiful, neo-classical building designed for the Royal Bank of Canada in 1909, this local favourite was described by Canadian writer Allan Fotheringham as the most magnificent bookstore in Canada, possibly in North America.

Roger's Chocolates

A chocolatier to the Queen with amazing delights, providing chocolate to Victoria and the world since 1885.
